Reader comment on item: Subsidizing the Enemy

Dr Pipes,

Though I myself am given to pondering a wide variety of problems it perplexes me that the Islamist invasion is treated with such even handed confusion. The extent to which Islam conflicts with the west is open and visable without binoculars. Recently on a publically broadcasted talkback program in Australia a preeminent Islamic student activist stood down a Federal government minister who dared to make the radical assertion that the law should apply evenly to all of the citizens of the Australian nation. And that political allegiance should therefore be to the state. Offended and indignant the Islamist student (clean cut and eloquent like many CAIR spokepeople in the US) stated how Islam dictated the political as well as the religious allegiance of its members. The implication: Muslims have a god given right to lord it over us because of this freedom of religion clause most democracies seem to labour under. Interesting that the folks who invoke the clause seem to have so very little respect for religious beliefs that differ from their own.

Rest assured we pay for the education of these nutcases. We pay to have them taught to hate our society, to burn our cars, to engage in extremism, to rape women who don't conform to their pathological norms of concealment and waltz around with a male relative in tow. Why do we do it? I think Dr Pipes identifies the culprit well and truly in Rosseau's left who see the Muslims as victims - no matter how many victims the muslims are creating.

To see the extent and the success of the project I can cite one pertinant example from recent experience. Students not only in the Islamic context but in the conventional education system are pumped with some of the most vile and untruthful anti western bile that Islamic prevarication becomes only a subset of a larger problem. In Australia we had the unfortunate experience of having the largest youth suicide rate in the western world in one year. The progress of truth through the left ran as thus: first it was the highest youth suicide rate in the western world across multiple years, then it was the highest in the "world" not just the western world. Small lies told across time that most are indifferent to but the implications are tremendous when the left uses them to invalidate the moral fabric of our society. Funny thing is they were the people who originally launched the campaign to destroy this moral fabric in the first place. The Canadian intellectual John Ralston Saul said on this matter pertinently: "Ideologies like most religions always present themselves as the solution to the problems they create."

If we fund left wing idiots to tell lies about us it's not much of a stretch to fund radical religious morons to tell similar lies.

Cordially,

Reuben Horne.
