"I don't know how to explain it any clearer to you. There are many descriptions of terrible sins in the Bible. Should it only contain love, peace, and cozy feel-good stories because it's the Bible? It's a history of the beginning of OUR world-- your world, my world. I guess you could say 'why would anyone write about the atrocities of Adolf Hitler-- how disgusting!! Our children shouldn't be exposed to such vile stories.' Then would you deny that it even happened?"

First of all when I asked questions about Christianity I sincerely wanted to understand more because I have and do discuss these things with some of my Christian friends - the majority of them are usually unwilling to discuss the Trinity so as you can understand it is sometimes a bit vague for us (Muslims).

As for my how can such things be shown to children, I wasn't referring to the fire and brimestone stories in the Bible, I was referring to the bordering on pornography parts that I pasted for you. How can things like "genitals of donkeys" and "emissions of horses" be read by children? How do you explain things like that to a child?

You say:
"Since there have been different accountings, conspiracy theories, and interpretations through the years of what happened, why not just deny that it's even credible anymore? That sounds like how you have discounted the Bible. Please don't deny that you've totally tried to do that."

I don't discount the Bible or Jesus's (pbuh) mission to mankind - what I do discount is the current version(s) of the Bible - I believe it has been changed and edited and is not what God sent down to us initially.

As for your question about the beginning of our existence, you can find more info here:

University of Southern California website. It's very interesting and may answer many of your questions.

Peace to you.
