Adib, I too dislike getting into religious debates because I think it deflects away from the real problem which is radical, supremacist Islam (not that I believe all Muslims are like that, but some are who follow the Wahabi teachings). The truth is that most of us don't really care what a person's personal beliefs are, we just do not want those beliefs imposed on us. Having said that, I want to reply to your question regarding Jesus and God.

Yes, in Christian theology Jesus is "God made man" meaning that he had two natures: human and divine. Now there is God the father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit. Only one God, but three different forms. Kind of like water can take the form of vapor, water, or ice, but it is still H2O. Or think of the shamrock--three leafs, but one plant.

So, you are correct in your reading. But, sorry I can't explain the theology of the trinity as I don't have enough theological knowledge. Maybe someone else here does.
