Hi 'Another One',

That's probably the most fundamental problem that the world faces in this regard - the general acceptance that everything that we're presented with by the media, whether it be CNN or Al-Jazeera, is fact. We're all guilty of it to a greater or lesser extent.

As for the various sects that comprise global Islam I've done a little research of my own so am reasonably clued up, (as much as an outsider can be, anyway!) so I know that it's a big subject. I'm convinced that shining light on this element of Islam will go some way to at least partially educate some of the paranoia that is so apparent at the moment. It's something that is best left to an expert though!
