Reader comment on item: Something Rotten in Denmark?
in response to reader comment: What was the mischief behind the rule not to depict Mohammed

Submitted by a muslim (United States), Feb 1, 2006 at 16:54

I think lots of you guys burn flags when you want to oppose something. it doesnt mean you are barbarians or terrorists. let us put it this way, would you like somebody to picture your parents in a silly and offending way and then publish it just for the sake of fun?

muhammed to us is like a father (and he is not a god by the way, we pray to our god allah and we consider mohammed as a messenger like all other prophets and messengers, we respect all messengers by allah's orders through mohammed peace be upon him). we dont accept others offending our father and then tell us to swallow it because they wanted to practice their freedom.

i think its a propaganda just to start flames of hate and then tell it was all becuase muslims are terrorists who dont like other religions. we do respect all religions but we think you need to understand us more and respect us more.
