Reader comment on item: Something Rotten in Denmark?

I've read some comments, also come of those including parts from Quran. You said "these citations are probably representing the best of the Koran"... so i suppose You actually read Quran to know what is the best from it, right? Taking verses from any religious book, just like that, without considering them part of the entire system of verses that compose the book, can be a great weappon and a way for strumentalization. Just to give You an example, taken from Bible (and i guess nobody would ever say that Christianity is oppressive for women, as it is often said for Islam to be):

"But I would have you know, that the head [i.e., authority (Jdg. 11:10; Eph. 1:22)] of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. Every man praying or prophesying with his head covered, disgraceth his head. But every woman praying or prophesying with her head not covered, disgraceth her head: for it is all one as if she were shaven. For if a woman be not covered, let her be shorn. But if it be a shame to a woman to be shorn or made bald, let her cover her head. The man indeed ought not to cover his head, because he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of the man. For the man is not of the woman, but the woman of the man. For the man was not created for the woman, but the woman for the man. Therefore ought the woman to have a power over her head, because of the angels." (1 Corinthians 11: 3-10)

"Maybe the media is selling news but European politicians are selling their countries."
I don't think You really understood the meaning of my post. It is not about selling news (that was just a bit of sarcasm) but about manipulating the mass through the media (trust me, there are a lot of books and philosophical publications regarding this metter). Since it is usefull to governments of the western countries to have the public opinion on their side when it comes to islamophobia (if You don't believe what I'm saying, then just try to take a look around and see the international situation), the media are giving ONLY a negative image of Islam and muslim immigrants, to show the people "how terrible those terrorists are"... Hope You got my point! And what I said about manipulation of religious scripts is just a proof of how easy it is to manipulate the information (and through that the mass' perception of reality).

"Multiculturalism will not characterize European's future. Monoculturalism (Islam) is Europa's future and the media is not the only one to blame here."

This is exactly what they would like You to think, because it's this attitude of fear of being "overtaken" that causes hate and supports the most extreme and racist attitudes.

again, peace for those who really know the meaning of the word!
