Thanks a lot for explaining the ambiguity concerning the "graue Panther" in Pike's post.

He seems to be a "modern" German janissary. Such a janissary differs from the classical janissary of old who was first kidnapped from an infidel family to become a stalwart defender of Islam. Today one volunteers to become a janissary...or one is bought into becoming a janissary as in the case of our politicians-janissaries telling us that what we so desperately need in Europe is Turkey.
