Not so quick to jumble others with hate preachers

Reader comment on item: Two Germans vs. Islamism

Submitted by William Kinney (United States), Jan 4, 2006 at 23:42

Hate preachers speak with the authority of religion to their potential followers. In inciting violence they are issuing executive orders.

They are enemy combatants, while some of the others need not be. Inciting terrorism under cloak of religion is a command and control function. It is itself a terrorist act. It is a violent act. Creating an environment conducive to terrorism should be illegal also, but it is not a terrorist act. The preachers are enemy combatants. This distinction shouldn't be lost.
