I'm glad you observed the importance of culture in this issue. If Ukrainians find welcome in Poland, perhaps it is a common Slavic heritage, many Ukrainians being Roman Catholic, albeit Byzantine rather than Latin Rite, and historical ties. Perhaps Greece, Moldova, Romania, and Bulgaria are welcoming because they share a common Byzantine Rite Christianity. I am also curious to know how many Ukrainians landing in Israel are either Jewish, or have Jewish connections.
