This observer, coming from a predominantly German heritage, had a hard time understanding the possilbe rreasons the antecedents came to America back in the nineteenth century untll learning how the previous monarchies that made up Germany did not allow for freedom of expression of its subjects and freedom of religion was at the top of the list of misunderstanding to which the Scriptures spoke. German theology did not always express the Word of the LORD in a way that agreed with the message of the Gospel. No wonder Marx did not get along with the Seminary traditions.
Fast forward to the hidden religious extremism of the Third Reich and the cozy relations with various anti-Semitic sectors within the Vatican, and later in the Middle East; and see how the operatives of the Third Reich were able to influence and be influenced by adherents of the Quran, the circumstances of which doubled down later in creating the state of Israel, from which many who are escaping the religious intolerance of the day had been going to Europe, even Germany, almost as if turn about is fair play.
