Wahhabi Islam's Intolerance of Judaism and ChristianityReader comment on item: Christianity Dying in Its Birthplace Submitted by David Gilchrist (United States), Sep 13, 2005 at 20:36 It is with great dismay that this ongoing problem of persecution by majority muslim regimes, and governments occurs in the Middle East with nary a whimper from the Mainline Protestant Churches from the West. It seems that Christians are fair game because they are perceived as being weak, ineffective and also in some quarters as traitors (they are not muslims). If we pride ourselves as being champions of Human Rights then that must include religious rights of Christians in the Muslim Middle East. Christians in places like Nazareth, Bethlehem and must not be attacked without impunity and we must spring to their defence by challenging authorities in these countries about their responsibilities towards all citizens regardless of religious persuasion.
