don't think so.Reader comment on item: Christianity Dying in Its Birthplace Submitted by wajiha batool ahmed (United Kingdom), Feb 9, 2009 at 16:10 First of all the Qu'ran does not say anything about jizyah, because it was first introduced by the second Caliph Umar (ra) after the end of revelation of the Qu'ran and the death of the Prophet (saw). The only reason he did introduce it was so that the non muslims would gain protection by the muslim goverment, if the muslims pay Zakah (also a tax) then why cannot non muslims pay it. Another thing, the educated and the majority of muslims do not force their religion on anyone, "there is no compulsion in religion." (Qu'ran) The prophet (saw) did not do it, so we should not. Muslims are also taught to fear Allah but he also says that, "My mercy prevails my wrath."
