Arabs and Israel

Reader comment on item: Israel's Arabs, Living a Paradox

Submitted by Ilbert Phillips (United States), Jul 11, 2012 at 06:44

I have just returned from Israel and totally understand why Muslim and Christian Arabs are conflicted about Israel. When in Jerusalem and the surrounding suburbs, it is hard to believe one is in the Middle East: electricity, air conditioning, public transportation, incredible roads and amusement areas, consumer products, bakeries, super markets, the shuk; the new Mamila Shopping Center in Jerusalem is similar to Century City in Los Angeles. or Rodeo Road in Beverly Hills. American and other Christian Tourists by the thousands if not the millions; medical and technological advances galore. Something the Arabs have not been able to do with their oil money, their fatwas and their eviction and murder of their Christian and Jewish populations. Israel treats it women, men, children and gays well. What are the Arabs doing other than expressing the desire to destroy Israel. We shall see if Israel allows this new world to be destroyed.
