Reader comment on item: Israel's Arabs, Living a Paradox

Submitted by ibuzone (Canada), Mar 22, 2012 at 05:53

The very definition of a citizen of a country includes an implied allegiance or at least parity with the national interests. When citizens within a country, or worse, publicly elected figures, proclaim their un-alliance, they are undermining the national interests. It's not like anyone is being forced to convert to Judaism in order to live there, in fact no one is forced to do much of anything, they are free to leave at will. They are also free to live as they please and speak as they please. It is a free and democratic country.
