If ONLY Turkey, NATO, vs Israel

Reader comment on item: Goodbye Ankara
in response to reader comment: Turkey, NATO and Israel

An interesting scenario, indeed, is presented here.

Turkey has already made its intentions known, as verified by the departure of the Israeli envoy. An Israeli vessel is targeted by the Turkish navy, whether in international waters or not is yet to be determined. For the sake of this argument, Israel is able to defend herself from attack. What does NATO do?

But Turkey is allied with more than the NATO consortium; ostensibly Russia could very well insert their naval influence and prowess and intervene on behalf of their relationship with Turkey. Now what does NATO do?

As much as one might think this scenario could not possibly happen, let us hope that someone does think this through before IT DOES HAPPEN!
