in response to reader comment: I do not agree with Daniel's concept of possible "evolution" of islam

Judaism as first monotheistic religion changed in many aspects for instance by not imposing its harsh Torah law such as punishments for adultery and for breaking the shabbat as well as the sacrifices to the deity... Even the most ultra orthodox sects don't implement anymore such old and archaic laws. Christianity followed as well by not interfering with politics and science which led to the enlightment. Islam too will restart to implement the "Ijtihad" which is the way for adapting and changing.
