Jaladhi asks where do we see moderate Islam? In history, a hundred years ago.

I was merely stating what I believe is Pipes' hope--that we will see (again) a moderation in the Islamic world. Time will tell if that comes about. At present the trend is towards a revival of the original (Salafi) spirit and practice of Islam, which is anything but moderate.
