Almighty God's Reasons for Acceptance Much Different Than Mankind's

in response to reader comment: Unquestioning acceptance is a choice

While this reader is not normally interested in the more prurient aspects that may be associated with what may be described as philosophical / religious discussion on mankind's favorite diversion, this question begs, potentially from a post Catholic perspective, of why a virgin relationship (even a single one versus 72?) might be more desirable that one that is developed over a more serious relationship. This question cannot be answered faithfully except from a Biblical perspective, for only in the Holy Bible is the marriage union and its intimacy determined to be blessed by Almighty God, all others being manipulations of human interdiction. One man, one woman, virgins to each other and free from previous relationships and married in that context, are the only people that can have that union free from the baggage of other experiences.

A person can only be a virgin until the first encounter; then it is forever gone. In that framework, there is only one time in history the witness comes that a virgin conceived and bore a son; then we are given evidence that Mary later had her matrimonial relationship with Joseph and remained his wife until his death.

The idea that a man can go from this earth to receive a reward of 72 virgins can be considered somewhat chauvinist, but more importantly, impractical. In a circumstance of the most prodigious sort, this would not last more than three months; and even stretched out, it is over in less than a year and a half. What to do with the rest of eternity, one might wonder? The Holy Bible has an answer for that as well.

It is written and heard in several venues that a great lover is not one that satisfies a different woman every night, but it is he that satisfies the same woman for a lifetime. It is apparently a concept lost on those who would differ from the Biblical concept described by Jesus Christ.

The debate of why 72, or whatever number one might settle on becomes academic then, for the impracticality overrules all. It is a situation that cannot be reconciled with a mindset of moderation: and maybe in a more intelligent frame of reference, the conclusion can be drawn that one who subscribes to such a thing can never be satisfied, and may be that is why it is so easily used to lure otherwise susceptible minds into doing that which is otherwise unthinkable.
