Reader comment on item: Predicting the 2008 U.S. Presidential Election

Submitted by Leonard Boasberg (United States), Dec 1, 2008 at 22:53

President-elect Barack Obama, this "far leftist," as Daniel Pipes calls him, with his "extremist political views," has chosen for his administration's economic team such other far leftists as New York Fed Chairman Timothy Geithner, former Secretary of the Treasury Larry Summers, and former Fed Chairman Paul Volcker, and such other far leftists as Republican presidential nominee John McCain have praised the selections. I can understand why Professor Pipes feels "bewildered by my own country, and apprehensive about what comes next."
