Barack Obama, who focused on the economy, referred briefly to Iran at his first news conference Friday, Nov. 7: "Iran's development of a nuclear weapon is unacceptable. We must mount an international campaign to prevent this happening. Iran's support for terrorist organizations must cease." He said would he answer president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's letter of congratulations "when we have thought it through."
