Bjorn: Your "argument" basically boils down to "Americans are stupid -- they won't do what I want!" All you do in support is to recycle slogans from the Liberal Faith That Must Not Be Questioned. These are not arguments that will affect people capable of rational thought (though they work well enough with the far left...)

Now, if you wanted to argue that Americans are stupid because they have supplied Europeans with their national defense for 50+ years, thus encouraging them to fall into irrational behaviors with great moral hazzard, that might be arguable. The feckless behavior of Euro politicos is also a very bad example for the thoughtless left in the US, who are also unaware of what sustains their comfortable civilization.

The counter-argument (which would be vehimently denied by most Europeans) would be, that because of American defense, Europe has avoided a major war for far longer than ever before in its history (60 years). Personally, I'm not sure it's been worth it.
