I don't know which part of the United States Ms. Paolucci grew up in, but to suggest that Obama gave his daughters Muslim names is absurd.

Malia and Sascha (or Sasha?).

I can say, unequivocally, that Ms. Paolucci did not grow up in Honolulu, or anywhere in the great state of Hawaii, as both Obama and I did. If she had, she would know that "Malia" is Hawaiian for Mary or Maria. Sasha is short for Natasha, which is not Muslim, but more Eastern European, or Russian (Boris and Natasha from "Bullwinkle" anyone??)

All Ms. Paolucci needed to do was google the kids names, and she would have found all this out. Of course, why let facts and reality get in the way of a really good story?
