Jerusalem comes a poor third place after Mecca and Medina. The Muslim world's "affection" for Jerusalem is a pure reaction to modern day (Jewish) Zionism. The Holy City was neglected during the centuries of Muslim rule. The Temple will be rebuilt, G-d willing, one day in Jerusalem once all earthly disputes are settled.
