Is leaving the faith of Islam punishable by death.

Reader comment on item: Conversions in Israel
in response to reader comment: Is leaving islam punishable by death in the koran or other Muslim books?

Submitted by Joseph (United States), Sep 28, 2007 at 10:43

please can someone show me were does it say leaving the faith of Islam is punishable by death. I don't want to read articles about someone under fear for leaving Islam. Please give something that is written in any Islamic books. The reason I'am writing and searching this site, it's due to what Iam reading, and discussing with my fellow workers, and people who are interested.

I would also like to state that every time this subject comes up people use propaganda? or cultural beliefs. They never want to show something written within it's religous dogma. Now let's stop the B.S.
