You are right in realizing this. hinduism, it can be said with a challenge, is the most democratic religion in the world...it is , in fact a religion ' by the people ,of the people and for the people ' , it allows highest level of freedom for its followers in respect of diversity of faith and practice...a hindu is free to love and regard any god he or she likes, free to choose the way of life he or she likes , free to choose even not to believe in god at all. I don't know whether there is any other religion that allows its followers to not to believe in their respective god or religious customs. Hindu scriptures like Upanishads or the Gita does not force or dictates any hindu to follow something or have faith in something but urges one to question the mysteries of our existence in the world and find the answer ...life is an endless search for truth , and endless journey to be more perfect a man...Every religion says that only his religion is true and all must follow it or be condemned to the hell, but hinduism says that all faiths are true in their own way. Miss Usha , please read works of swami vivekananda and download and listen to " paper on hinduism mp3, -swami vivekananda " available at www.esnips.com .

Thanks ! Good wishes for all !
