It is critical to understand that Pakistan-based extremism is the siamese twin of Saudi-based Salafi internationalism. Pakistani nuclear weapons are at grave risk of proliferation: AQ Khan network fingerprints have been observed on Iranian and North Korean nuclear programs.

The question looms, where have these fingerprints gone unobserved? The world policeman, US military power, is being crippled by a type of geopolitical kleptomania.

Mindlessly disoriented leaders have tuned out their most serious strategists (think Daniel Pipes.) If global counter-terrorism was top priority at the White House, multinational forces in Iraq would have withdrawn to desert bases years ago in order to prepare for much more relevent future objectives in neighboring countries.

For all the intense disfunctionality of the Nixon administration, they indeed recognized the threat of VC bases in Cambodia and took direct action to counter it.

The intelligent observer must ask, why is the US subcontracting essential counter-terrorism operations in Waziristan to an openly hostile Muslim power, which is fuctioning as the market maker of an illict international nuclear bazaar?

Subcontracting vital military objectives, be it to lawless mercenaries in Iraq or the hyper-corrupt Olmert government in Southern Lebanon is the symptom of a decaying infrastructure

America is reliving the Korean war nightmare over and over again; with China silently playing the man behind the mirror in all of these conflicts. Fall into a permanent stalemate at the 38th parallel on the world stage and America may not awaken from her slumber.
