the title doesn't matter

Reader comment on item: On New York's "Khalil Gibran International Academy"

Submitted by shaif yahya (United States), Jun 4, 2007 at 18:42

i'm outraged that people would think that this new school which is about to open would lead to trouble becuase it teaches arab cultures.well people aren't getting this. this school is going to teach arab cultures doesn't mean about islam/muslims. there are arabs who are jews, christians you name them. this school basically teaches the arab culture and not religion. and of course the other subject math, english, global history,US history, science.....

i want people to know the beauty of arab cultures that exist in this world without people knowing that. muslims are not terrorists. i mean in the "Holy Quran" there is nothing about hurting others. only non muslims or claim to be, or maybe not educated arabs might do what they do to hurt others.notice islam is like every religion, its all about peace and respect and helping each other. anyone crosses that line is a non-muslim.

take it from a student in Sheepshead Bay High School.
peace to all and wish you luck
