To Donvan: Interesting; would you expand.Reader comment on item: My Testimony before the House Subcommittee on Israeli-Palestinian Negotiations Submitted by mariana (United States), Apr 2, 2007 at 11:55 Donovan. Your ideas are quite provocative and definitely interesting. How does one do such a thing without being charged with being all kinds of "ists?" In order to "destroy the symbols," those who would execute this destruction policy would first, definitely have to do a great deal of education of their populations. One interesting thing they'd have to deal with is that current generations of Jews and Christians, don't seem to even know the "symbols" of their own religious traditions, and Islamists [in American prisons and juvenile detention systems, especially] seem to have capitalized on this ignorance. I am definitely interested to hear more of your thinking on this topic. Can you think about it a bit more and give us an expanded view of this concept. For example, how does it square with Daniel and Bernard Lewis' theses in this regard? What would the be the results of such actions? mariana Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
