re "Arab & Muslim World."Reader comment on item: My Testimony before the House Subcommittee on Israeli-Palestinian Negotiations Submitted by Jascha Kessler (United States), Feb 25, 2007 at 15:27 It is always interesting, and rather disagreeably disheartening too, to reflect that all those who condemn the very existence of the State of Israel never criticize the Arab World for its increasing attack on its native Christians, the ancient Copts of Egypt, who were part of the civilized Hellenic civilization long before the Arabs invaded and put them in a state of 2nd class inhabitants of their own lands; the Orthodox of what is now Iraq, and the silent Syriacs and inhabitants of what is now Turkey. There is no sense of the sweep of history, nor yet its tragic changes, nor yet the modernization of the founders of Israel, who began to leave Europe in time at the end of the 19th Century. Ignorance of history should be an admonishment to the ignorant and bigoted everywhere. But as we know, there are no Zionists, nor Jew in Japan, which has a rather notorious post-war appearance of anti-Semitism [anti-Zionism] too.
