Boorish title from Mr. ShawamraReader comment on item: My Testimony before the House Subcommittee on Israeli-Palestinian Negotiations Submitted by Fred Schlomka (Israel), Mar 29, 2007 at 04:11 A cursory search on Google will reveal the activities of Israel's Hilltop Youth, who are regarded by the vast majority of Israelis as fanatic thugs. Is it so hard to believe that Israelis, as well as Palestinians have their violent extremists? One interesting article by Jonathen Cook can be found at: A quote from the article: "Denunciations of the hilltop youth by leftwingers like Meretz leader Yossi Sarid, who called them a band of "Jewish fascists", underestimate the problem. The young settlers have organised themselves into armed militias with little respect for the law and a ready understanding that they will be treated with restraint at all times by the security forces. One settler leader, Moshe Feiglin of the extremist Zo Artzenu movement, has become a spokesman for many of the youngsters and articulates a new ideology based on what he calls a "Jewish dream", as opposed to the traditional "Zionist dream": investing power in an expanded theocratic Jewish state rather than a secular Zionist one." Mr. Shawamra obviously was not taught manners as a boy, and is also not polite enough to put his full and correct name behind his post...Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
