Did Atta and other terrorists attended Mosques?

Reader comment on item: [Mosque Mischief and] Counting Mosques

Did Atta and other terrorists of 9/11 attended Mosques? Does anyone have the answer? I actually do not know.

Last Year in LA, a Jewish defense league member was arrested for planning to bomb mosques. Did FBI catch him by watching temples? I was surprised when they caught him. They must have been listening to him somewhere.

I am not sure what this really means for intelligence gathering. FBI used to watch Baptist churches in the 60's also. Does FBI have enough arabic or farsi speaking agents?

Daniel Pipes replies:

Yes, Mohammed Atta and two of the other pilots, Marwan Al-Shehhi and Ziad Jarrah, attended and were radicalized at Hamburg's Al-Quds mosque, where they were approached by al-Qaida's Khalid Sheik Mohammed. (Staff)
