Counting mosquesReader comment on item: [Mosque Mischief and] Counting Mosques Submitted by Don Canham (United States), Feb 12, 2003 at 01:34 Dear Mr. Pipes,I read your article on counting mosques and it set me to thinking about the prison element of this country. There is a burgeoning following of Islam in jails, penitentiaries and other places where they incarcerate people. As most of the inmates are black and already hate whites they would do anything to get a free ride, do you think the government should be counting these inmates. Hell, they already know about all there is to know about these inmates. Not all stay in for life and with a little help from other Muslims they are a formidable group. I really don't think they care about terrorism as long as it gives them another vehicle to attack a society that they don't believe in, or else they wouldn't be in jail in the first place. I'll be looking for an answer. Sincerely, Don Canham, Lt. NYFD Ret. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Daniel Pipes replies: I think the government should keep an eye on Muslim inmates for signs of radicalization.DP Comment on this item
