Bombing IranReader comment on item: Democrats, Republicans, and Israel Submitted by rick (United States), May 30, 2006 at 09:57 Well, we may have no other choice than to do it. I really don't think this mullah government wants us to bomb. They may find a limited bombing to their favor -a bombing not accomplishing the mission and giving them ammunition for their anti-West diatribes. I am talking about a successful bombing which would leave their nuclear program in shambles with little hope of recovery. It may take a week of such bombing. ANd don't forget that most of the IEUs in Iraq today are Iranina supplied. Iran likes to conduct war by proxy - Iraq and Lebanon for example, and not by themselves - if they can help it. The country has lots of "rich" targets. An air war would be very detrimental to them. The fallout from such a campaign will just have to be something we have to accept. The success of putting their nuclear dreams down the drain would be worth it. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
