Discuss the cartoons/free-speech/peaceful-protest controversy with reference to the following:

1. The published view of extreme right-wing US securicrat, Frank Gaffney that journalists working for the Arabic TV station Al Jazeera are fair game for assassination by US forces because they are often critical of US policy.

2. The recent recommendation by extrenist 'Christian' evangelist Pat Robertson that the US should consider bombing Mecca.
