First I want to thank Daniel Pipes for his great column and his open expression of American values. The response of the Bush administration to the election results was predictable. We need to reach out now and use whatever avenue (including the UN not one of my favorite organizations) we can to take charge of the situation in Palestine.
I predict chaos soon with the government in the making not lasting a year before new elections will be needed or called for. We have our elections in November and I can see some predictable expression of violent terror like action to embarrass the Bush administration and America before that time. Do we really want to have more death laid at our door? Let us appoint a special ambassador at large and get something going.
If we are not going to do anything to jump start what Sharon was doing then why not just bomb the whole region and pay a fee to the survivors and then no more our money or people will be lost. Harsh yes but hell man what is a person to do knowing some nut might have a forced draft and put my college age son into some war situation soon. Enough reasonable people time for us to take charge and act.
