Israel's Acting Prime Minister Olmert is correct in his assertion that Israel is at "a turning point" as a nation since the Gaza withdrawal, as he stated at the Herzliya Conference recently.
Israel has set a precedent to award the Palestinian Authority; not land for peace, but land as a reward for continued terror and murder. The world watches in disbelief as the State uproots Israeli's from areas being reclaimed and established. What happened to the Jewish spirit that was so vibrant and successful after the Six Day War? Where is the Jewish State that stood against the forces of the world who fought for her demise? Where is Zionism?
Now, Acting Prime Minister Olmert says areas of the Judea and Samaria must be evacuated to ensure the Jewish majority of the State. I would like to remind Prime Minister Olmert that there was a Jewish majority in the Concentration Camps of Europe during World War Two. Was that a successful enterprise? Are Jews now turning against their own?
Instead of surrendering land, more land should be taken after each terror attack. Confiscate and reestablish 40 acres for reclamation after each attack, in memory of the millions of Jews who have suffered and died just for being Jewish.
Israel is setting a terrible precedent for the other nations of the world by rewarding terror with retreat. Forces have arrayed themselves against Israel and desire the total destruction of the State so what do we have to lose?
Mr. Olmert, reverse course.
