The Ongoing Democratic Party LibelReader comment on item: [Saddam's] WMD Lies Submitted by Howard Wolf (United States), Dec 9, 2005 at 01:34 Many are the Democrats who have uttered the Goebbelian slander that George Bush "cooked the books," and distorted the data to deceive the congress into opting for war against Saddam. What exposes this as a calumny is an event that has oft been corroborated by the Clinton appointed CIA Director, George Tenet. The President came to Mr. Tenet accompanied by the pertinent members of his cabinet some two weeks before the war and uttered words to the following effect. I have been told by many sources (referring to the intelligence services of Britain, France, Jordan, Egypt, Germany and Russia to name a few) that Saddam has indeed manufactured WMD in defiance of UN sanctions. And since I am responsible to convey to the American People that this is the case before we commit out troops to war, what are your thoughts on the matter? Without hesitation, Mr. Tenet, head of the federal bureau most responsible to obtain accurate foreign intelligence, answered, "Mr. President, it's a slam dunk." Based on that authenticated conversation, any and all who accuse the president of lying about WMD in Iraq are themselves guilty of libel.
