I dont think his comments should be taken simply as a 'joke'. Muslims should come out in the open to criticize this blatantly inhuman statement of Ahmedinijaad. He should be forced to apologize and clarify to the world that he meant no harm to innocent Israeli public. I, being an ordinary pakistani muslim, simply cannot imagine this sort of rogue behavior (even if one assumes, as you think, that it was a political ploy) in the modern world. Muslims should condemn and abhor people like Ahmedinijaad.
