I regret missing the live debate with Professor Dabashi. The script was fascinating. His rapid resort to name-calling ("failed academic" and "charlatan") might have been the best live humor of my day. It goes to prove that, when logic fails, the unarmed debater can only resort to school-yard insults. If such unsophisticated thinking reflects the tolerance for crude polemics hanging on the vines of the Ivy League, I'm sure enough glad I sent my kids to reasonably-priced state schools where, I do believe, they learned the awesome power of an applied logical syllogism!
