I wish you good luck and much fortitude in challenging the intellectual "mafia" that Middle Eastern Studies has sadly become in much of the West. I went to college a long time ago (30 years) and never heard such political pandering fromn ANY discipline (and I was a sociology major!).
I'm afraid it will be an uphill battle to get commentators to understand the true purpose of your website. They have their agenda, and will stick to it. Do your best to stick to yours, and you will win in the long run. Americans respect the man who asks the difficult questions, if he is honest and sincere, and has legitimate questions to ask.
Your TV debates, when transcribed, are models of propaganda point and counterpoint. When transcribed, one can see the holes in your opponents' thinking. Someday I think you should offer a short course on how to combat these guys, point by point. Just a summary of your transcribed interviews would be enough.
BTW, did you ever get the proof of hacking and other malicious activity that Prof. Dabashi so blithely commented on, but never bothered to prove? Or are his comments just another "urban legend" directed at you?
Keep it up, Professor. People here are rooting for you.
