Muslims Are Required To Be Islamists, or else they are Apostates

Reader comment on item: Trump: You Should Ban Islamists, Not Muslims

With all due respect, Dr. Pipes, the fundamental ideology of Islam is exactly what we are seeing in the actions of jihadists who are following the tenets outlined in the Quran and Ahadith, as commanded by Muhammad, the prophet of Islam. As you know, Muhammad was a military strategist as evidenced by the historical conquests of land during his life, from 622 until his death in 632 CE. Jihad against Jews, Christians and all other non-Muslims continued therafter under the leadership and power struggles of four Caliphs who took up the banner of Islam. It continues to this day.

The fact is that Sharia laws are the fundamentals for the way a Muslim is obligated to live. To stray or disagree with the laws of Sharia constitutes defiance to Allah and Muhammad and, therefore, one then becomes an apostate whereby that individual Muslim will be given the choice to go back to accepting Islamic teachings completely or be subject to death for "straying from the faith".

There is no doubt that there are many individuals born into the Isamic faith who have never read the Quran nor Ahadith. These would be those who secretly do not agree with or are not aware of Muhammad's commands to strike terror into the hearts of all non-believers and to not take Jews and Christians as friends. Fortunately, there are some brave Muslim groups who are now beginning to speak out, however, they immediately become the target of the fundamental Imams and Islamic leaders who seek to fulfill Muhammad's goal of striking terror and jihad until the whole world accepts Islam as the only acceptable religion on earth and bows to Allah, as many are doing in the streets of many countries today.

Additionally, just as most Americans are not in the military but support the cause of this nation's freedom and stand by the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, most Muslims are not jihadists in the actions of striking terror but they do support the cause of Islam, revere Muhammad, and stand by the belief that Sharia should be the governing law of the land - including here in America.

So, the question is: Which "Muslims" in America are willing to forego the establishment of Sharia law, doubt Muhammad and demand that their leaders negate the verses in the Quran and Ahadith that call for Jihad against Jews, Christians, Atheists and all other non-Musims and swear to abide strictly by the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights including giving equal status to women?
