Irrational Response of Intellectuals to Muslim Violence

Reader comment on item: Why the Paris Massacre Will Have Limited Impact

Submitted by Ilbert Phillips (United States), Nov 14, 2015 at 17:17

I am slowly coming to the realization the more one has a trained intellect, without a moral component -- such as Christian -- involving good and evil, the easier it is to be seduced into allowing one's beliefs to preempt facts since all facts are relative in terms their final meaning. So, if Muslim terrorists are involved in attacking European civilans, who in fact are quite liberal as a population, the intellect takes the position that one must focus on the idividual perpetrator and not look at how a particularly Muslim religion may have influenced him or her to behave the way he or she did. If the person is Muslim, you cannot blame all Muslims or the Muslim religion. But if the perpetrator of violence is a Christian or a Jew, you can blame Christianity or Judaism. (Oh, these intellectuals are not rational.)
