Reader comment on item: Why the Paris Massacre Will Have Limited Impact

Submitted by Wolf Doleys (Germany), Nov 19, 2015 at 08:57

Could be right, but there could be a switch in Germany, because of the many Sunni-intruders. Chancellor Merkel heads the CDU, which formerly was a conservative party, but it isn't conservative any more. Chancellor Kohl began the transformation into a social democratic party, successor Merkel nearly finished that work. Former German federal president Christian Wulff, CDU, declared about 2008: "Islam is a part of Germany". Merkel repeats that again and again, and so do the the other party leaders in the Bundestag. That means, only left wing parties – all of them left from Obama – sit in the central parliament:

Postcommunists LINKE, green and left radicals GRÜNE, CDU, SPD. Partly conservative, somehow comparable with the US-Democrats, is the CSU from Bavaria, in government, but accepting Sunni-intruders and not leaving the ruling coalition government with SPD (left socialdemocratic) and CDU (right socialdemocratic). Mainly conservative only are ALFA and AfD, both rather weak, AfD growing, partly DFU and NPD, which are very small right wing parties.

And there could be a switch in France, too. The regional elections late this month will show.
