I confess I was so wrong

Reader comment on item: Why the Paris Massacre Will Have Limited Impact
in response to reader comment: I wish I could disagree

Well, I expressed something of a lack of confidence in the words of Imam Johari Abdul-Malik of the Muslim Alliance in North America when he called on Muslims to redouble their efforts in vigilance and confronting extremism.

I should have had more faith in Imam Abdul-Malik, as subsequent events have shown. I've been proven very, very wrong.

Back after the Boston Marathon bombing, there was a Muslim rally against violence on Boston Common. About 15 Muslims showed up for this powerful demonstration.

After the Paris mass murders, there was a Muslim rally against violence in Paris. This time, of 5 million Muslims in France, about 30 showed up.

30 being double 15, it would seem that our imam was right on the mark with his prophetic words.

I think everything will be all right now.
