Bevin to Parliament 1947

Reader comment on item: Recognizing Israel as the Jewish State: Statements, Actions, Analyses

Submitted by Jerome Verlin (United States), Jan 23, 2014 at 23:03

British Foreign Secretary Bevin (no friend of ours) to Parliament 1947: "For the Jews, the essential point of principle is the creation of a sovereign Jewish state. For the Arabs the essential point of principle is to resist to the last the establishment of Jewish sovereignty in any part of Palestine." (Quoted with source in Bell, "Terror Out of Zion," p. 188).

What's changed? Not much.
