Don't forget also, that just as the Romans and others desired, Islamists want to wipe Israel from our memory, so we do no longer look toward it as a beacon of light in the darkness. Remembering Israel and G_d's covenant with Abraham, is what they want us to forget most.

Israel is not a modern invention, and wanting to destroy Israel is not a modern invention either. This is just the same thing taking a new form. The Hebrews breaking free of the yoke of slavery, also broke free from the yoke of the demands of barbarism and the blood it's gods desired from the people.
