Because the Arabs want Israel to be Arab and Muslim

Reader comment on item: Recognizing Israel as the Jewish State: Statements, Actions, Analyses
in response to reader comment: Why does Israel require recognition from the Palestinians ?

Submitted by Reina (Israel), Aug 16, 2009 at 08:25

The Palestinian Arabs are part of the large Arab nation and part of the Ummah, the Muslim nation. The Arabs want the entire Middle East to be under Arab control and the Muslims want it to be under Muslim control, with no sovereignty or self-determination to any other ethnic and/or religious group such as the Kurds, the Berbers, the Assyrians, the Christians in Lebanon (which is gradually becoming a Muslim state) and others in this region. The end goal is to turn Israel into another Arab-Muslim state. That's why recongnizing Israel as the homeland of the Jewish People is needed for a final settlement of the conflict and that's why the Arabs and Muslims will never recognize it as such.
