Why does Israel require recognition from the Palestinians ?Reader comment on item: Recognizing Israel as the Jewish State: Updates Submitted by Debanjan Banerjee (India), Apr 20, 2009 at 11:27 Mr. Pipes, Israel is the most advanced nation , militarily as well as economically in the Middle east , Palestinians are a hapless, subject people , conquered in 1967 by Israel. My question is why even a right-wing leader like Bibi wants recognition from Palestinians ? To me it is like Bill Gates wanting recognition from a beggar in the streets. Kindly answer my question. I will welcome your answers. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
