The relative meaning of words can be misleading. A pre-requisite to peace is recognition of Judaism's holy places. It is a cultural conflict Judaism-Christianity-Islam, Jerusalem being the focal centre. At present Judaism is not on a par with the rest since recognition is being denied by both. Recognition here implies acknowledgement of absolute truth.
Furthermore, it is the source of their cultural perspectives and the lasting values of humanity they are taking for granted. There is a fear that to grant recognition will invalidate their version of holiness, in fact, the reverse is true.
