Your article is frightening, because I believe it is the truth.
I came across a Kurdish website containing pictures and a descriptive list of tortures the Kurds received at Saddam's hand. As an "average" American having gone through the Vietnam war as a "flower child", the thought of those horrors being inflicted on our population is unthinkable.
However, there is also a website writing about Taliban prisoners who suffocated in trailers out in the desert, and the US military may have been involved? Who is telling the truth? Is it everyone or no one? Is our military as ruthless as Saddam's? As Americans we are so brain-washed by television to be "all we can be" and live the American dream.
Even now we go about our business as usual, choosing to simply allow our government to make the best choices for us whether we agree or not. We continue to live for money, and MTV continues to gyrate bodies across the screen. ... I think that a great horror is lurking just around the corner. Our spirits need to be prepared.
